Sehar Himalayan Salt: Ecommerce Website and Inventory App

Project Overview

Sehar Himalayan Salt is the brand of NAWA Industries, a Pakistan based manufacturer and exporter of Himalayan salt products. We built its branded online store and a custom inventory web app that tracks stock, purchases and sales, with each order and its line items kept together in one place.

The store presents the full range to retail and trade buyers, from salt lamps and cooking blocks to edible pink salt. The inventory app gives the team one system for products, stock, customers and suppliers, built around the way the business actually sells.

The Challenge

A wide and varied range

The business makes natural and crafted salt lamps, USB and night lamps, candle holders, tiles and bricks, therapy stones, kitchenware and edible salts. Many products come in several weights and sizes, so the store had to stay easy to browse.

Stock sold in pieces, boxes and bags

The same product can be bought or sold by the piece, by the box or by the bag. Stock counts had to stay right whichever unit a sale or purchase was entered in.

Orders with many lines

A single sale or purchase often covers many products. Recording one row per movement would have made orders hard to read, edit and invoice.

What We Did

A branded ecommerce website

We built the store on WordPress and WooCommerce with 11 product categories on the homepage, featured products, and product options for weight and size, so buyers can pick the right pack before adding it to the cart.

A custom inventory web app

We built the app from scratch in PHP and MySQL. It includes:

• A dashboard with product count, stock units, stock value, and low and out of stock items.
• Products with photos, categories and saved filters.
• Purchases and sales as multi line orders, with an optional discounted price on sale lines.
• Customers and suppliers, each with their total items sold or purchased.
• Invoices as PDF, print or email, and stock reports.

Units that convert themselves

Each order line can be entered in pieces, boxes or bags. Boxes convert using the pieces in each box, and bags convert using the weight of each bag, so stock always adds up in the same unit whatever the team types in.

Results

The online store is live at seharhimalayansalt.com, showing the full range across 11 categories with clear product options. The inventory app is complete for its first version, with sign in, the stock dashboard, multi line purchases and sales, customer and supplier records, invoices and reports all working, ready for the team to load its own stock counts.
